Friday, June 13, 2025 - Former Isiolo County Chief Medical Officer, Abdiriham Mohamed, was abducted, brutally tortured, and dumped in Ruai, in what is being described as a politically motivated attack.
The
harrowing incident took place shortly after Abdiriham was seen in the company
of Isiolo County Speaker, Mohamed Roba,
and several Members of County Assembly
(MCAs) - all of whom are backing the impeachment of Governor Abdi Guyo.
Preliminary
reports suggest that the attackers were goons
allegedly hired by Governor Guyo, who is currently battling mounting
allegations of corruption and abuse of
office.
Abdiriham, a known critic of the embattled Governor, had
been vocal about the alleged mismanagement of county resources and the misuse
of power under Guyo’s leadership.
Photos and videos circulating on social media show the
former official in a horrifying state, indicating severe physical torture.
He was taken to the hospital where he is receiving treatment
as police launch investigations.
