Wednesday, May 28, 2025 - Outspoken Saboti MP, Caleb Amisi, has sounded alarm bells for President William Ruto following a recent opinion poll showing that the vast majority of Kenyans no longer trust his leadership.
Citing a new Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) survey,
Amisi noted that 75% of Kenyans believe the country is headed in the wrong
direction since Ruto took office in 2022.
The poll, conducted between May 2nd and 6th
among 2,024 respondents across nine regions, paints a grim picture for the
Kenya Kwanza administration.
“What should scare Ruto is to know that 75% of Kenyans don't
believe in his leadership.”
“Yet he has only one remaining financial year before the
next election,” Amisi said on May 28th.
“How he intends to reduce this to 49.9% will be the biggest
miracle ever to happen to any nation on planet Earth, including the Vatican
City.”
The survey also revealed that 86% of those who felt the
country was on the wrong track had experienced economic decline, compared to
just 30% among those who said the country was on the right path.
Only 4% of the dissatisfied group reported financial
improvement, while 36% of the satisfied group said their economic situation had
improved.
