Monday, October 07, 2024 - In a tragic incident stemming from a romantic dispute, a man from Coleen Bawn, Zimbabwe, was killed following a violent confrontation over a girlfriend.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested three
suspects linked to the fatal assault of Mlamuleli Mangena, while a manhunt is
underway for three others involved in the brutal attack.
The deadly altercation occurred on October 3, 2024, at
Forest H60 Mine, where Mangena was assaulted with a sharp object during a
heated argument over a romantic rivalry. According to police reports, the
confrontation turned deadly when six individuals launched a violent attack on
the victim.
In a statement, ZRP confirmed the involvement of known
suspects. “The suspects, identified as Trinity, Benito, and Mashelly, along
with three other unknown individuals, struck Mlamuleli Mangena on the head with
an unknown sharp object after an argument concerning a girlfriend,” the police
said.
The violent attack did not end with Mangena’s death. Another
victim, 30-year-old Tinashe Chirenje, was also assaulted during the same
altercation. Chirenje was severely injured after being attacked with both a
machete and an axe. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he
remains in critical condition.
Police have successfully apprehended three of the six
suspects, while the other three remain at large. Authorities have urged anyone
with information on the whereabouts of the remaining suspects to come forward
and assist with the investigation.
“Anyone with details about the suspects should report to the
nearest police station as the investigation continues,” the ZRP advised. The
tragic incident has left the local community in shock, and the police are
working to bring the remaining culprits to justice.
