What happens when somebody joins RUTO? See what has happened to Treasury MBADI who was a once a brilliant politician

Friday, August 23,2024 - Treasury and National Planning Cabinet Secretary, John Mbadi, has surprised Kenyans over how he has changed in the last two weeks he has been at the helm of the powerful finance docket.

Mbadi was among five Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ‘technocrats’ who former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ‘donated’ to President William Ruto to form a broad-based Government.

Others are Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperative and MSMEs CS), Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy CS), Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum) and Beatrice Moe who is the East African Affairs CS.

Before he joined Ruto’s Government, Mbadi was the ODM chairman and was also a nominated MP.

However, in the short period he has served as a CS, Mbadi who was once articulate, brilliant and brave has become the opposite.

During an interview with Citizen TV presenter Sam Gituku on Thursday evening, Mbadi appeared confused, drooped, sluggish, hesitant and was unreal throughout the whole interview.

Mbadi wasn’t even facing the camera because whatever he was spewing appeared to be lies, maybe he has learnt from the ‘appointing authority’ who is a patented liar and ‘lies all the time’
