Monday, March 11, 2024 - Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has refuted claims that he is angling to form a handshake NADCO government with President William Ruto.
This follows the recent truce between the Opposition and the
Head of State.
Speaking during an interview, Kalonzo made it abundantly
clear that he would not be part of Ruto’s government despite the truce.
According to Kalonzo, the reports of a National Dialogue
Committee (NADCO) handshake government were unfounded.
The former vice president stated that NADCO had prepared a
framework for stability in the country but that did not mean the opposition was
eying a piece of government.
“There is no NADCO government because there is a lot to be
done. Without that, there can be no working together,” he explained.
“I do not want to be in the government. I am ready to be in
the opposition to fight for Kenyans.”
Kalonzo explained that his vision at the moment was to
protest against Ruto’s government to unseat the fifth
president of Kenya in 2027.
The Wiper Leader was wary that Raila and Ruto may have
different agreements that did not align with his political vision.
He explained that he had prepared the NADCO report and that
should Raila and Ruto not oversee its implementation, he would not stand to be
blamed.
“I have given them the NADCO report and if they (Raila and
Ruto) destroy it, it is up to them,” he explained.
