Thursday, January 11, 2024 - President William Ruto was reportedly forced to hire crowds to accompany him to Nyahururu after the area residents boycotted his development tour.
The crowds were mobilized by local leaders
allied to the head of state and transported in lorries.
Police were filmed moving around with lorries
pleading with the locals to go and listen to the head of state as he held
roadside rallies after commissioning a milking plant.
However, the residents ignored the pleas and
continued with their hustles.
An x user shared an amateur video showing the
locals minding about their businesses as the President visited the area and
wrote:
“President Ruto is in
Nyahururu. He arrived with his own hired audience in trucks.
“Nobody is
interested. The police are going round telling people to close their businesses
and go listen to the lies.
“Nobody is moved.
Not even Mama Mboga...Not even Boda Boda....Zakayo haamini,’’
