- Homicide detectives raided the home of Brian Mwenda and conducted a search that lasted for 8 hours, before arresting him in connection with the brutal murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani alias Snipper.

Detectives conducted the search from 8 am to 3 pm and then bundled him into a waiting vehicle.

They drove him to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters in Nairobi for further questioning.

Mwenda is the seventh suspect to be arrested as investigations surrounding the blogger’s murder continue.

Others arrested include Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s brother.

The Governor alleges there was a political witch hunt in the ongoing investigation into the murder.

On Saturday, detectives camped at her residence where they collected evidence in the murder investigation.

She maintained that her hands were clean, adding that the slain blogger never visited her official residence.

“The Governor’s official residence is under 24-hour police security.”

“There is an incident book at the gate where all incidents are recorded and the policemen guarding the residence should be the first to be questioned.”

“I urge the investigators not to be biased,” she said.
