Video of African Presidents including RUTO queuing to receive ice cream gifts from VLADIMIR PUTIN during Russia-Africa Summit sparks reactions (WATCH)

Saturday, October 31, 2026 - A video showing African presidents and Heads of State lining up to receive ice cream gifts from Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow has sparked mixed reactions on social media.

In the viral clip, Putin is seen picking an ice cream for himself before standing by as the African leaders take turns queuing to receive their treats.

Kenyan President William Ruto was among the African leaders who attended the high-profile summit.

The unusual moment has since triggered a lively debate among social media users, with some questioning the contrast between how African leaders conduct themselves during international engagements and the VIP treatment they enjoy back home.

A section of netizens particularly noted that the same presidents who command extravagant motorcades, heavy security details and elaborate reception ceremonies in their respective countries appeared comfortable joining an ordinary queue for ice cream while in Russia.
