Two young men arrested ferrying narcotics on a motorbike in Kilifi (PHOTOs)


Saturday, August 1, 2026- Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested after police intercepted a motorcycle transporting a consignment of cannabis sativa during a targeted operation in Kilifi County.

The operation, conducted by officers from Mariakani Police Station, led to the arrest of Ali Mbaji, alias "Mkadinali," and Rashid Mustafa, alias "Malalo," at the Njoro area of Mariakani Township.

According to police, the officers intercepted the motorcycle the two suspects were using and recovered a total of 84 large rolls of cannabis sativa.

 Ali Mbaji was found in possession of 59 large rolls, while Rashid Mustafa had 25 large rolls.

The suspects were taken into police custody and are currently undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment in court.

Police also detained the recovered narcotics and the motorcycle as exhibits to aid ongoing investigations.

The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking, urging members of the public to continue sharing information that can help dismantle criminal networks and enhance community safety.
