LADY’s stolen phone dropped at a police station by a rider after images of suspects who drugged her and emptied her bank accounts were captured when trying to unlock it

Tuesday, August 11, 2026 - Margaret Muthoni has revealed that her phone has been recovered after being reportedly dropped at a police station by a rider.

In a social media update, Margaret revealed that the phone is currently in police custody as an exhibit, while investigations continue into the funds withdrawn and transferred from her accounts.

“My phone was dropped at a police station through a rider.

"It is being held as an exhibit as we continue with pursuit for all the monies withdrawn and transferred,” Margaret said.

She thanked Kenyans who helped circulate photographs of the suspects believed to have drugged her and stolen money from her accounts.

According to Margaret, images of the suspects were captured by the phone after they attempted to unlock the high-end device.

Margaret, however, urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to move with speed and apprehend the individuals she alleges were behind the incident.

“These thugs need to be apprehended soonest possible. A person who can drug and stupify you can equally kill you,” she said.

According to Margaret, the recovery of her phone is a major step forward, but the money taken from her accounts is yet to be recovered.

“Phone is back, money not yet,” she said.
