2026 - Police officers from Sidindi Police Station recovered two cows
suspected to have been stolen after pursuing a vehicle along the Kisumu-Busia
Road in Siaya County during an early morning operation.
According to a police report, the incident occurred at
around 4:30 a.m while officers were conducting routine patrols in the Mabeya
area.
The officers spotted a maroon saloon car and signaled the
driver to stop, but he ignored the orders and sped off towards Mumias.
The officers immediately launched a pursuit and eventually
intercepted the vehicle in the Sidindi-Sigalame area.
Upon realizing they had been cornered, the driver and his
passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, evading arrest.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of two cows that
had been tightly tied and loaded inside the saloon car.
Officers also recovered a plastic toy gun believed to have
been in the suspects’ possession.
The recovered animals are being held at a police station as
investigations continue and efforts are made to identify and reunite them with
their rightful owners.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, who remain at large.
