Wednesday, April 8, 2026 - Concerns have emerged over unscrupulous traders in Nairobi who are refurbishing laptops in backstreet workshops and selling them as genuine Ex-UK products.
In a video shared online, local technicians are seen
assembling and refurbishing laptops in a dingy backstreet in Pangani, raising
questions about the authenticity of devices being sold to unsuspecting buyers.
The laptops reportedly make their way into electronic shops
in Nairobi CBD, where they are marked and sold as Ex-UK products.
Many buyers have repeatedly complained that some of the
laptops sold in shops around Nairobi CBD rarely last for more than a month.
