Tuesday, March 17, 2026 - A multi-agency police team arrested two men suspected to be linked to a spate of armed robberies in Mombasa and recovered an A-47 rifle stolen from a police officer.
According to DCI, the suspects, Pius Okech Ondijo and
Kellars Wanyonyi, are believed to be among a group of about 15 armed men with
machetes who ambushed a police officer guarding the Mombasa County Industrial
Park a few weeks ago and stole his AK-47 rifle.
During the sting operation, one of the suspects was shot in
the left thigh while attempting to flee.
