Tuesday, March 3, 2026 - A foreign woman believed to be a tourist was left visibly shaken after suspected thieves snatched her expensive chain while she was walking along a busy street in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
According to witnesses, the woman was strolling through the
CBD in the company of her husband when the incident occurred.
The suspects reportedly took advantage of the crowded and
chaotic street environment to quickly grab the chain before disappearing into
the crowd.
In a video that has since circulated online, the distressed
woman is seen breaking down in tears as her husband and concerned members of
the public try to console her.
She is heard saying that the chain was very dear to her,
suggesting it held sentimental value beyond its monetary value.
Passersby gathered around to offer support, urging her to
remain calm despite the shocking ordeal.
The incident has reignited concerns over rising cases of
petty theft and insecurity within Nairobi’s CBD, with many residents and
business owners calling for enhanced security measures to protect both locals
