Friday, November 28,
2025 - Outspoken Nandi Senator, Samson Cherargei, has declared that the
United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) sweeping triumph in the November 27th
by-elections is proof that President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027 is
“already guaranteed.”
Speaking after the polls, he praised UDA’s exceptional
performance under the leadership of President William Ruto, describing the
outcome as a clear demonstration of Kenyans’ confidence in the ruling party.
He singled out President Ruto, Deputy President Kindiki, and
the party’s broad coalition of partners as the biggest winners in the contests.
The Senator contrasted the victory with what he termed
significant losses for opposition figures.
Among those he listed as political casualties were Wiper
leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kakamega
Senator Boni Khalwale, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Trans Nzoia Governor
George Natembeya, former Attorney General Justin Muturi, former Interior
Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In
Malava Constituency, UDA's David Ndakwa was declared the winner after
garnering 21,564 votes against DAP-Kenya candidate Seth Panyako, who garnered
20,210 votes.
In
Mbeere-North, UDA’s Leonard Wa Muthende emerged the winner (15,802 votes) after
beating his competitor, Newton Kariuki, popularly known as Karish, who garnered
15,308.
