Thursday, September 25, 2025 - Nairobi County Chief Officer for Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria, has once again demonstrated his compassion after rescuing a Rasta man who had been living on the streets near the Railways Golf Club, directly opposite Green Park.
According to Mosiria, the man had not only made the roadside
his home but had also created an illegal dumping site in the area.
When he first approached him, the man was reluctant to
accept help.
He recounted how many people, including pastors, had
previously promised to assist him but only used his plight to solicit
donations, leaving him more wounded and hopeless.
“This time, I chose to do more than talk,” Mosiria said.
He immediately bought the man new clothes, helped him take
his first proper shower in many years, and treated him to food.
He also revealed plans to help him fix his hair, secure
decent housing by paying his rent for the next three months, and connect him
with a counselor to guide him through reintegration into society.
Additionally, Mosiria pledged to clear the makeshift
structure the man had been living in and restore the area, saying it was a way
of returning dignity both to the man and to the city.
“He doesn’t belong on the streets, and neither do the many others like him,” Mosiria noted.
