Tuesday, September 2, 2025 - Residents of Gaitu, Imenti in Meru County, were left in shock after a suspected love triangle ended in tragedy.
Police say 34-year-old Gilbert Muriuki lost his life after
being ambushed inside a house by a man who allegedly caught him with his wife.
The suspect, a night security guard, had reportedly
pretended to leave for work before sneaking back and confronting Muriuki.
Armed with a panga, the enraged husband launched a violent
attack.
Witnesses said Muriuki attempted to flee but collapsed just
a few meters from the house, succumbing to his injuries.
Police recovered the weapon at the scene and confirmed that
the suspect fled immediately after the attack.
Investigations are underway as officers pursue him.
The shocking incident has sparked hushed conversations in
the village, with locals describing it as a grim reminder of how love triangles
can spiral into tragedy.
