U.S Embassy issues stern warning to Kenyans holding student visas amid DONALD TRUMP's immigration crackdown

Wednesday, August 13, 2025 - The United States Embassy has issued a warning to international students, cautioning them about the risk of losing their visa status if they fail to meet the requirements of their academic programs.

In a statement released on Wednesday, August 13th, the Embassy urged student visa holders to strictly adhere to the conditions of their stay, warning that violations could result in visa revocation and loss of eligibility for future travel to the U.S.

"Heading to the U.S. on a student visa? Ensure you stay on track! If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your visa may be revoked," the statement read.

The advisory comes a week after the Embassy reminded Kenyan visa applicants to fully disclose their social media accounts during the application process.

In an August 4th statement, the mission warned that failure to provide this information could lead to immediate disqualification.

The Embassy emphasized that, since 2019, all immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applicants have been required to submit social media identifiers as part of a broader vetting process to safeguard U.S national security.

"We use all available information to identify applicants who may pose a threat," it added.
