Tuesday, August 12, 2025 - Police officers in Embu stormed the residence of slain gangster, Swaleh Oswado, just days after his burial, confiscating vehicles, electronics, and assorted household goods believed to be proceeds of crime.
The raid, conducted under tight security, saw heavily armed
officers surround the compound before removing the items and loading them onto
police Land Cruisers.
According to investigators, the assets are suspected to have
been acquired through armed robberies, extortion, and other organized criminal
activities that Oswado allegedly orchestrated before his death.
Police have since directed Oswado’s family to produce
receipts as proof of legitimate ownership if they wish to reclaim the
confiscated items.
Oswado, a feared figure in Embu’s criminal underworld, met
his end in a hail of bullets after staging a daring escape from a prison van
while being transported from court following a mention of his murder case.
His death drew mixed reactions, with some residents expressing relief.
