How a stolen iPhone 15 helped police uncover electronics theft den in Kayole (PHOTOs)



Thursday, August 28, 2025 - Police officers from Embakasi Police Station have arrested two suspects and recovered hundreds of suspected stolen electronic devices following a successful operation in the Mihang’o area of Kayole Sub-County.

Acting on actionable intelligence, detectives tracked a stolen iPhone 15 to Breeze Point Apartments on Turin Court, where they swiftly moved in and conducted a raid.

During the operation, officers arrested two suspects and recovered the following exhibits: the stolen iPhone 15, 321 assorted mobile phones, seven laptops, various mobile phone covers, laptop chargers, an LG music system, and two speakers.

The suspects are currently in custody at Embakasi Police Station, awaiting processing and arraignment in court.

Police confirmed that all recovered items have been secured at the facility as investigations continue to determine whether the suspects are linked to a wider network of electronics theft.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) commended members of the public for providing the crucial tip-off and praised the swift coordination between Kayole and Embakasi officers, which led to the successful arrests and recovery.

Authorities have urged victims of phone theft to report and help identify their gadgets among the recovered items.
