Monday, August 11, 2025 - The teaching fraternity in Kibwezi is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Madam Jackline Musyoki, a Mathematics and Business Studies teacher at St. Mary’s Kinyambu, who died in a tragic road accident over the weekend.

The late Madam Jackline was the wife of Mr. Moki, a teacher at Nguumo Girls Secondary School.

The devastating accident also claimed the lives of their young daughter, Jackline’s mother-in-law, and another woman believed to be her sister-in-law.

According to reports, the family was travelling back home from Kitui after attending Madam Jackline’s dowry payment ceremony, held in preparation for her wedding scheduled for this coming Sunday.

What was meant to be a week of joy and celebration has now turned into a period of unimaginable grief.

On behalf of the teachers of Kibwezi, heartfelt condolences have been extended to Mr. Moki, as well as the teachers, students, board, and parents of St. Mary’s Kinyambu.

“Let us keep the bereaved family in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time,” read part of the condolence message, as the community awaits an official statement from KUPPET Executive Secretary.
