Friday, May 30, 2025 - Controversial preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a has come to the defense of President Samia Suluhu, criticizing Kenyans for what he called unwarranted attacks against the Tanzanian Head of State.
The backlash followed the arrest and deportation of Kenyan
activist Boniface Mwangi and Ugandan journalist, Agather Atuhaire, who had
traveled to Tanzania to observe the trial of opposition leader Tundu Lissu.
In response to the controversy, President Suluhu accused
unnamed regional activists of trying to destabilize Tanzania through social
media.
“They have destroyed their countries; now they want to do
the same with ours,” she warned, urging security agencies to be vigilant
against foreigners with ill motives.
Their treatment sparked outrage online, with Kenyans
flooding X (formerly Twitter) with criticism directed at Tanzanian authorities
and President Suluhu.
Pastor Ng’ang’a urged Kenyans to respect leaders, regardless
of their nationality.
“I can’t change my character. I will speak until my last
breath.”
“Whoever accepts me should know I’m a commander, I’m a
father,” he stated.
