Thursday, August 1, 2024 - A concerned Indian citizen has shared a video showing the deplorable state of Gauhati Airport which is managed by Adani Group.
The airport has a
leaking roof, causing inconvenience to passengers and traders who have set up
businesses at the airport.
President Ruto recently
confirmed that the government is planning to work with Adani Group to upgrade
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and give it a new look.
Ruto brushed off reports
that the government intends to sell JKIA to the Indian company.
“The airport we have in Nairobi is made of canvas in the arrivals.
"This is a temporary structure we put up almost 7 years ago.
"Ethiopia and Rwanda have brand-new airports. It is the reason why we need to work with investors to give
us a new airport,” Ruto said.
The
Head of State, during a Town Hall conversation in Mombasa on Sunday, argued that
a Public- public-private partnership (PPP) will be the right approach to improving the
airport, as it allows foreign and local investment into the project.
However,
the company seems to be incompetent going by the video shared on X.
