Cricketer mysteriously collapses and dies immediately after hitting a six (VIDEO)

Monday, June 3, 2024 - A cricketer mysteriously collapsed and died immediately after hitting a six in India.

The batter, identified as 42-year-old Ram Ganesh Tewar, was playing cricket in the Mira Road suburb, which lies north of Mumbai, when he tragically passed away.

Footage shows him aiming for a perfect six while wearing a pink vest, before walking back to his wicket. Shortly after, he is seen crumpling to the floor with some of his fellow players running over to him to help, attempting to revive him, but their efforts are in vain.

Local police said authorities are still working to figure out the exact cause of death.

Mumbai has reportedly recorded high numbers of heatstroke cases in recent weeks, as India as a whole faces soaring temperatures.

Maharashtra, the region that Mumbai lies in, reported a total of 276 cases of heatstroke in March, April and May this year alone, though no deaths have yet been reported.

'While we are transitioning into the monsoon phase, heat continues to affect young office-goers in the 20-45 age group, now more than ever, Dr Divya Gopal from HN Reliance Hospital, in Mumbai, told the Times of India.
