See what police recovered after conducting a search in the house of suspected serial killer JOHN MATARA in Kahawa West as the caretaker exposes his financial struggles.

 Thursday, January 11, 2024 - Detectives investigating the brutal murder of Pastor Victor Kanyari’s sister, Starlet Wahu, have conducted a search in the house of the prime suspect, John Matara.

The sleuths stormed Matara’s house in Kahawa West and recovered HIV testing kits, condoms and other items that he is suspected to have used to assault and torture his victims.

There were also bottles of alcohol in the house which was reportedly frequented by different women.

Matara moved to the house in August 2023 after he was chased from apartments close to Kenyatta University for being a nuisance to other tenants.

His house in Kahawa West is located 50 metres off the main road.

According to the caretaker, he used to spend the day in the house, leave in the evening and return dead in the night.

The house had only one seat, a table, and a computer in the sitting room.

Apart from living a quiet life, Matara loved alcohol and could be seen in the company of women who visited his house.

“Alikuwa anashinda mchana akiwa kwa nyumba, kama ni usiku anaeza toka anaenda anarudi ikiwa late kama saa nane.

“Hapa chini tuko na soldier anasema alikuwa anakuja saa nane akiwa mlevi...ndio alikuwa anakuja na wasichana wanafanya vile wanafanya anawasidikiza wanaenda,” said the caretaker.

He was also facing financial struggles despite promising women heaven on social media.

At times, he was unable to pay rent.
