Wednesday, January 10, 2024 - Former Gatanga Member of Parliament, David Murathe, has revealed the presidential candidate he will support during the 2027 Presidential election.
The 2027
presidential contest will likely feature President William Ruto, former Prime
Minister Raila Odinga, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, and some joy
riders like Prof. George Wajackoyah.
Speaking
on Monday, Murathe who is a former Jubilee Party Vice-chairman, insisted that
Raila Odinga still remains his presidential candidate during the 2027 election.
“Raila will be the 2027
Presidential flag bearer. Those holding contrary opinions should pose or hold
their horses. If Malawi people picked a President at 90, what's strange with
Raila’s case,” Murathe said.
Murathe's suggestion comes after
Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka declared that he will be on the ballot in 2027 and stated that he will not support Raila’s presidential ambition again.
Kalonzo has maintained that he
is the one who will fly the opposition flag in 2027 and nothing will
stop him from achieving that.
