Governor MWANGAZA breaks silence after her husband and her sister were implicated in the cold-blooded murder of Meru-based blogger SNIPER

Tuesday, January 16, 2024 - Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has broken her silence after her husband Murega Baichu, and her sister Miriam Guantai were implicated in the murder of Meru-based blogger, Daniel Muthiani, popularly known as ‘Sniper’.

Baichu recorded his statement together with Mwangaza's sister after questioning by detectives in connection to the murder as detectives intensified their probe into the killing of the blogger.

Responding to the reports, the Meru Governor defended her spouse and sister, insisting that the truth will eventually come out.

She argued that her family was targeted in the probe due to lies propagated in connection with the murder of the blogger.

"Calm in the midst of the storm. Lies can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on shoes," Mwangaza stated.

"We Shall Overcome Gloriously With God's Grace!" she added.

Baichu recorded a statement days after detectives raided their home in Meru over the gruesome murder.

After the raid, Mwangaza directed the DCI to question other Meru leaders who have issued public statements over Sniper's murder.

"Why is the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) slow in getting statements from some Meru MCAs and MPs?" Mwangaza posed.

"They are all over the County and in public meetings claiming to know the Killers. And how/ where the incident took place," she added.

"If the DCI won't hold the elected leaders responsible, then they should stop making any further arrests," Mwangaza demanded.
