Tuesday, January 16, 2024 - Former Nairobi County Governor, Mike Sonko, is a man of God, going by how he has been helping former Kenyan boxer, Congestina Achieng.
Sonko has helped the pugilist
two times to recover from drug and alcohol addiction and even offered her a job
as his security guard.
However, when she went for a
Christmas holiday at her Yala home, Congestina returned to her old habits and
she looked like a zombie.
But on Tuesday, Sonko through his X handle, said he
is giving Conjestina the third and last chance to continue with her healing
journey.
Sonko revealed that Conjestina
has since been readmitted to the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre to begin
her treatment journey.
“Even though our chances in
Conjestina's healing journey were watered down, I'm a person who doesn't give
up in life. It is for this reason that we have given Conjestina the third and
last chance again on her case,” Sonko said.
“I just want to let the public
know that she was readmitted at the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre where
she will start her treatment afresh under the care of a group of specialists,
including counselors, consultants, and physiatrists,” Sonko added.
He further thanked the Mombasa
Women's Hospital management for accepting Conjestina back to the facility.
