A 61-year-old Luo man found dead inside a lodging with 90 HIV treatment tablets.

Thursday, January 11, 2024 - Police have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a 61-year-old man whose body was discovered in a guest house within Bondo town.

The body of the deceased man, identified as Nicholas Ogada Ogol, was discovered by the attendants at the guest house on Tuesday around 10:30 am.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the incident and revealed that the caretaker of the guest house reported to the police about finding the body of the elderly man in one of the rooms.

Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased had checked into the guest house alone at approximately 8:00 pm on Monday, appearing intoxicated.

HIV treatment tablets were found next to his body.

The body displayed no visible physical injuries.

The deceased’s remains have been transferred to the Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary ahead of an autopsy.
