Thursday, October 8, 2026 - A video has emerged showing the terrifying moment a Nigerian man who later died while aboard a Kenya Airways plane to Lagos rose from his seat and tried to open the plane’s exit door mid-flight.
In
the video, passengers and crew members are seen trying to restrain him,
creating a scene that looked straight out of a movie.
Kenya
Airways said the man became unresponsive about 20 minutes before the aircraft
landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The
crew administered first aid to the passenger after the medical emergency
occurred.
“Upon
landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 21:41 hrs, the aircraft
was met by medical personnel, and upon further examination, the medical
personnel confirmed that the passenger had passed away,” the airline said.
It
is believed that he may have been suffering from pulmonary embolism, a
condition caused by a blood clot blocking an artery in the lungs.
The
condition can cause sudden anxiety, confusion and, in some cases, delirium.
