Wednesday, August 12, 2026 - Hezekiah Ojudi, an Administration Police officer based in Ugunja, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of GSU officer Henry Okello Omondi of GSU Headquarters.

Ojudi is believed to be among the two masked suspects who stormed Okello’s residence in Bondo, Siaya County, and accessed the bedroom where he was sleeping with his wife.

The assailants reportedly stabbed him twice in the chest before dragging him outside the house, where they further cut him on the head and shoulders.

His wife was not injured during the attack.

The attackers reportedly fled into the darkness immediately after the assault.

Police said nothing was stolen from the house, and the motive for the attack remains unknown.

The arrested officer is Okello’s blood relative, adding a new twist to the ongoing investigations.
