A notorious gangster intercepted robbing a victim in Nairobi’s Majengo slums during a routine police patrol - A toy pistol and narcotics recovered (PHOTO)

Thursday, July 23, 2026 - A suspected notorious gangster was arrested by police officers during a routine patrol in Nairobi's Majengo slums after he was caught robbing a member of the public.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, 2026, when officers from Shauri Moyo Police Station, based in Buruburu Sub-County, were conducting a routine patrol within the area.

The suspect was reportedly intercepted while violently robbing a victim and had already forcefully taken a mobile phone and KSh 3,000 in cash.

A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of a toy pistol, the stolen mobile phone, and 152 rolls of cannabis sativa.

The suspect was taken into police custody pending processing and arraignment in court, while the recovered items were secured as exhibits.

The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to combating crime across the country and urged members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement officers to enhance safety and security for all.
