According to reports, the group is said to have stolen Ksh 1.2 million from a customer who had just withdrawn the cash from a bank in Muhoroni town.

The suspects reportedly trailed the victim before striking and making away with the money.

Their escape, however, was short-lived.

Sources indicate that the suspects fled towards Koitaburot, where they were later confronted and killed by a mob.

The incident has left residents in shock, particularly after it emerged that one of those killed was an active-duty police officer attached to Koru Police Station.

Police are expected to launch investigations to establish whether the suspects were working in cahoots with rogue bank officials.
