Thursday, January 29, 2026 - Motorists have been warned to remain vigilant after a dashcam video emerged showing a new tactic petty thieves are using to steal headlight washers from vehicles in broad daylight.
In the footage, which has been widely shared online, a
suspect is seen pretending to cross the road at a zebra crossing, forcing an
approaching motorist to slow down and stop to give way.
Moments later, the individual approaches the vehicle under
the guise of wiping the windscreen, a move seemingly intended to distract the
driver.
The suspect is seen attempting to tamper with and remove the
car’s headlight washers before walking away.
