Thursday, November 13, 2025 - Kenyan marathon icon, Eliud Kipchoge, was recently celebrated in style at Nike’s World Headquarters in Oregon, where a life-size statue was unveiled in his honour.
The tribute came during a special event at the Phil Knight
(PHK) campus, which also featured the inaugural Eliud Kipchoge PHK 5K run on
November 12th, 2025.
“A special day on PHK campus with my Nike family… Thank you,
Nike,” Kipchoge shared, reflecting on the heartfelt celebration and camaraderie
with fellow athletes.
The momentous occasion coincides with Kipchoge’s bold new
chapter: running seven marathons on seven continents.
At 41, the two-time Olympic gold medallist calls this his
“biggest adventure yet,” inviting fans to join him in making the world “a
running one.”
Fresh from completing the New York Marathon - his final race
in the World Marathon Majors series - Kipchoge clocked 2:14:36, finishing 17th.
Despite the result, he cherished the experience, saying, “To
become a Six Star Finisher in New York City is a beautiful achievement.”
This year alone, Kipchoge has raced in London and Sydney,
adding to his impressive portfolio that includes Boston, Berlin, Chicago, and
Tokyo.
His legacy also includes the historic sub-two-hour INEOS
Challenge, a feat that redefined human endurance.
“Running gave me freedom,” he reflected. “I was determined
to break through barriers and prove that limits don’t exist.”
From statues to global strides, Kipchoge’s journey continues to inspire a generation of dreamers and runners alike.
