Thursday, September 11, 2025 - A Kenyan truck driver has been hailed as a hero after rescuing a young man he encountered trekking alone at night near the lion-infested Tsavo Forest.
The man, who identified himself as being of Zambian
origin, was spotted walking along the dangerous stretch of road in the dead of
night.
Concerned for his safety, the driver stopped and offered him
a free ride.
At first, the distressed young man refused, insisting that
he was determined to walk all the way to Mombasa on foot.
The driver, however, pleaded with him, warning that he
risked being mauled by lions and other wild animals that roam the area after
dark.
After a tense back-and-forth, the man eventually agreed to
board the truck.
A video of the dramatic encounter has since gone
viral online, with social media users praising the driver’s humanity and quick
action.
Many noted that wild animals, especially lions, often prowl
the Tsavo region at night, making it one of the most dangerous areas in the
country for pedestrians.
