2025 - Police in Kigumo, Murang’a County, are investigating a gruesome
murder after a woman’s body was discovered wrapped in blankets and stuffed
inside a bag that was handed to a taxi driver as a parcel.
The chilling incident occurred on Wednesday, September 24th,
and has left residents in shock.
According to Kigumo Deputy Police Commander, Hassan Bashir,
four individuals have been arrested in connection with the crime.
Among them are the woman’s husband, her two sons and the
taxi driver who unknowingly transported the body.
The driver, who operates between Makombiki and Kangari town,
was flagged down by a man who requested him to deliver a parcel to a specific
location in Kangari.
The man paid for the service and helped load the heavy bag
into the vehicle.
Upon reaching the drop-off point, the driver found no one
waiting and, after a long wait, decided to take the parcel to Kangari Police
Station.
Officers opened the bag and were horrified to find a human
body wrapped in polythene and clothing.
Police launched immediate investigations, leading to the
arrest of the four suspects.
Bashir urged anyone with information to come forward,
assuring residents that detectives are working tirelessly to uncover the full
story.
“We will leave no stone unturned. Anyone involved in this
murder will be arrested and charged,” Bashir stated.
