30, 2025 - Disgraced city car dealer, Khalif Kairo, has broken his silence
following months of controversy and financial turbulence.
In a candid interview after being acquitted of criminal
charges, Kairo dismissed viral claims that romantic relationships with city
slay queens contributed to his company’s collapse.
“Operating at the level I do, a woman is 0.005% of your
problems,” he said, adding, “In business, a girlfriend is a very small
liability.”
“My car probably costs more to run.”
Kairo clarified that the real issues were cash flow
constraints and massive operational costs.
His companies reportedly required over KES 3 million monthly
to cover salaries, commissions and taxes.
He also cited external pressures like Kenya’s struggling
economy and large international loans, one in Japan allegedly worth KES 50-100
million.
Addressing speculation about lavish spending on his former
partners, Cera Imani and Wavinya Maria, Kairo estimated his highest expense per
relationship didn’t exceed KES 300,000 - calling it “peanuts” compared to his
business overhead.
The scandal, however, took a heavy toll.
Kairo revealed that he lost investment deals worth hundreds
of millions and saw major client contracts cancelled due to reputational
damage.
Still, he remains optimistic. “Despite all the chaos, God
came through and my name has been cleared,” he said.
He added that he is now single and women are not top of his
priorities as he is focused on rebuilding and aims to restore operations to
150% of their former level.
