Friday, July 11, 2025 - Kileleshwa MCA, Robert Alai, has sounded a warning to the son of the late Member of Parliament, Ong’ondo Were, cautioning him against resigning from his job at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to pursue a political career.
In a strongly-worded statement posted online, Alai, known
for his candid political commentary, criticized the young man’s move to contest
his late father's parliamentary seat barely a year to the General Elections.
“Worst mistake this boy will make is to resign from his KRA
job his father got for him recently to get into the murky world of politics
when it’s just one year to the elections. I don’t know who is advising this
boy,” Alai wrote.
The late MP’s son has reportedly begun early campaigns,
traversing the constituency in a bid to consolidate support and connect with
potential voters.
The parliamentary seat became vacant following the tragic
assassination of Ong’ondo Were.
