Tuesday, August 18, 2026 - Former Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has now confirmed long-standing rumours that Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya is President William Ruto's girlfriend.

Speaking at a public function, Aisha disclosed that when Aden Duale was moved from the Defence docket and Soipan was handed the powerful ministry, he called her breathing fire.

“Aden Duale alinipigia simu mwenyewe akasema Ruto amechukua Defence akapatia girlfriend yake,” Aisha said, adding that Duale hurled insults at the President, describing him as an evil and heartless man.

“Uliniambia Ruto hana utu hata kidogo,” she added.

Ruto has for a long time been linked to a romantic affair with Tuya, who went through an ugly divorce that ended in a bitter court battle.
