SHOCK as Gatundu South Boda Boda rider kills his son and attempts to take his own life after a domestic dispute (PHOTOs)

Thursday, July 23, 2026 - A tragic incident has left residents of Kiamworia Village in Kiganjo Ward, Gatundu South, in shock after a boda boda rider killed his young son before attempting to take his own life following a domestic dispute.

According to reports circulating on social media, the man, identified as Gachuhi, had reportedly been experiencing marital problems after a disagreement with his wife, who is said to have returned to her parents' home.

It remains unclear whether she left with their child or whether the boy remained in his father's care.

The incident is reported to have occurred at around 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening while the child was with his father.

It is alleged that Gachuhi went into the kitchen, armed himself with a knife, and attacked his son.

He then reportedly turned the weapon on himself in an apparent attempt to end his own life.

Neighbors who responded after the incident found the child critically injured.

 Sadly, the boy was pronounced dead, while Gachuhi was rushed to the hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
