Thursday, July 23, 2026 - Police officers from Kasarani Police Station and Githurai 44 Police Post have arrested two suspected phone snatchers believed to be part of an organised motorcycle-riding syndicate operating within Nairobi.
According
to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects were arrested on July 22
following intelligence-led operations and public tip-offs.
The
officers intercepted the duo in the Kamiti Road and Naivas areas within
Kasarani Sub-County.
A
thorough search of the suspects led to the recovery of five assorted mobile
phones believed to have been stolen from members of the public.
The
suspects have since been placed in police custody pending their arraignment in
court, while the recovered mobile phones have been secured as exhibits.
The National Police Service reiterated its commitment to dismantling criminal networks across the country and urged members of the public to continue reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
