Wednesday, April 1, 2026 - In May last year, President William Ruto announced the construction of Narok International Airport, promising that the project would be completed by March 2026.
Ruto, who was on a development tour of the county at the
time, said the decision to build the airport followed numerous appeals from
residents, who noted that tourism is the area’s main economic activity and that
an airport would help boost its value.
However, the President’s promise to complete the airport by
March this year has not been fulfilled.
Concerned Kenyans who visited the site shared photos showing
minimal progress.
According to the images, there appears to be little ongoing
work at the site despite the earlier commitment made to locals.
Ruto has previously come under scrutiny over unfulfilled
promises, with critics pointing to delays in key development projects.
