Wednesday, April 1, 2026 - A family in Bomet County is in shock after a 29-year-old man allegedly killed his girlfriend shortly after she reportedly asked to end their relationship.
Cynthia Chepkoech, from Chepkitach village in Konoin, was
strangled inside the suspect’s house on Monday, March 30th.
The suspect, Charles Korir, later surrendered to the police
and is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Police have moved the body to Kapkatet Mortuary pending a
post-mortem examination.
Chepkoech’s mother, Bornes Tonui, said the victim was her
only child, leaving behind a young son.
Local authorities also recovered an aerial wire believed to have been used in the tragic incident.
