Two LUO men believed to be dangerous criminals arrested after abducting and robbing a businessman in Kisauni - An AK-47 rifle recovered (PHOTOs)



Tuesday, February 24, 2026 - Efforts to rid the Coast region of criminal elements have received a significant boost following the arrest of two armed and dangerous suspects and the recovery of a loaded AK-47 rifle.

The operation was conducted by a joint team of detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and the Operations Directorate.

The suspects, identified as Collins Ochieng alias Voke (22) and Timothy Omondi Mgowe (23), are believed to be involved in a robbery and abduction that targeted a businessman in Kisauni Sub-County on February 17, 2026.

According to reports, masked assailants accosted the victim, stole substantial sums of money and valuables, and later abandoned him near the Mombasa Cement area.

Following the incident, detectives worked tirelessly on leads that eventually led them to a targeted apartment in the Bamburi Fisheries area.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the two suspects and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, one magazine, four rounds of ammunition, and ten assorted mobile phones.

The suspects are currently undergoing processing and will be arraigned in court soon.

Security operations across the Coast region continue to intensify, with authorities vowing to restore safety and security for all residents.
