Tuesday, November 04, 2025 - The widow of a police officer who was killed while guarding a KCSE examination container in Turkana has made a heartfelt appeal to President William Ruto’s Government.
Speaking on Tuesday, the grieving widow revealed that her
husband was the family’s sole breadwinner and had promised to start a business
for her in 2026.
“He was very young. We have a little baby.”
“The last time he came home in August, he promised many
things, including setting up a business for me next year,” she said.
Now left to care for their child and the officer’s elderly
mother, she pleaded for assistance - whether through a job or help starting a
business.
“I’m praying the Government helps me in any form. He was our
provider,” she added.
The officer’s sister-in-law also appealed for financial
support, revealing that the deceased had been paying for her children’s
expenses and had taken them in as his own.
The family is calling for swift investigations to bring the
perpetrators to justice.
The officer was gunned down on Monday, November 4th,
while manning a KCSE exam container at the Deputy County Commissioner’s office.
Suspected bandits ambushed him and a colleague, stealing his
loaded AK-47 rifle.
He was declared dead at the scene and his body taken to a
nearby mortuary.
Preliminary reports suggest that the attackers targeted the
officer’s firearm.
