ODM MP urges politicians to halt visits to RAILA ODINGA’s Bondo home - “Let MAMA IDA Grieve in Peace”

Monday, November 10, 2025 - Saboti Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi, has urged fellow leaders and mourners to suspend visits to the late Raila Odinga’s Bondo home, saying the Odinga family needs time to grieve in peace.

Taking to social media on Monday, November 10th, Amisi appealed for restraint, noting that the stream of delegations heading to Siaya County has become overwhelming for Mama Ida Odinga and her family.

“There is just much a human being can handle.”

“Perhaps it is about time leaders give Mama Ida and her family peace to take some rest,” he said.

“Baba's mausoleum is not going anywhere. We can visit from next year.”

“Crying for Ida Odinga.”

The call comes amid a wave of high-profile visits to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi and Opoda Farm, including those by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Royal Media Services Chairman SK Macharia have also paid their respects.

Even Raila’s doctors from India and local Arsenal fans have made the pilgrimage to offer condolences.

Raila Odinga died on October 15th following a cardiac arrest in Kochi, India.

He was laid to rest on October 18th, at his ancestral home in Bondo, Siaya County.

Amisi now hopes the family can be given space to mourn without further disruption.
