2025 - Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux, has paid an emotional tribute to Kenya’s
former Prime Minister Raila Odinga following his sudden death.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jux expressed deep sorrow
over Odinga’s passing, calling him “a true African hero and symbol of
leadership, courage, and unity.”
Jux revealed that he had recently met Odinga and his family
during a visit to Nairobi, a moment he said left a lasting impression.
“I had the honour of meeting him and his beautiful family
just a few weeks ago… I witnessed humility wrapped in greatness,” he wrote.
The award-winning artist praised Odinga’s rare blend of
power and compassion.
He extended condolences to President William Ruto, Odinga’s
family, and the people of Kenya, acknowledging the profound loss felt across
the region.
“My heartfelt condolences go to Hon. William Ruto, to Raila
Odinga’s wife, children and family, and to the lovely people of Kenya,” Jux
said.
He commended Odinga’s lifelong dedication to democracy,
justice, and unity, stating that his death is not only a loss to Kenya but to
the entire continent.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace. Africa has indeed lost
one of its finest,” he concluded.
Odinga will be buried on Sunday, October 19th, in
accordance with his wish to be laid to rest within 72 hours of his passing.
