Comedian OGA OBINNA addresses netizens linking him to the tragic death of Gengetone artist SHALKIDO

Tuesday, October 7, 2025 - Kenyan media personality and comedian, Oga Obinna, has spoken out following a wave of online speculation surrounding the untimely death of Gengetone star, Shalkido.

Taking to social media, Obinna addressed conspiracy theories circulating on social media, some of which bizarrely suggest that Shalkido was “sacrificed” or that his death was orchestrated.

Obinna condemned the rumors, urging fans to focus on compassion rather than sensationalism.

“I’ve seen all kinds of theories online - claims that he was used, sacrificed, or that it was all planned,” he said.

“Let’s not forget to support people while they’re still alive.”

He also called out those who failed to show up for Shalkido during his struggles, emphasizing the importance of giving people their flowers while they can still smell them.

“Take it upon yourself to reach out to our brothers and sisters who are going through something; try and support them and guide them while they are still here,” Obina said.

Obinna expressed no regrets about his relationship with the late artist, saying he was grateful for the chance to positively impact Shalkido’s life.

“Personally, I do not have any regrets from my interaction with Shalkido, and he knows, his family knows, and my team and my family know what we have been trying to do together,” Obina revealed.

“I am grateful to God for giving me an opportunity to be in his life for a very short period of time and trying to impact it positively,” Obina stated.

Shalkido succumbed to his injuries at Kenyatta University Hospital’s ICU after being declared brain dead following a tragic motorbike accident along Thika Road.
