Friday, September 12, 2025 - Law enforcement officers from Sotik Police Station have apprehended a notorious drug trafficker and seized 350 kilograms of bhang valued at approximately Sh7 million in the streets.
During a routine patrol along the Sotik-Kaplong highway, the
officers flagged down a Toyota Isis, registration number KBT 147X, for a check.
However, in a brazen move, the driver suddenly abandoned the
vehicle and bolted on foot, raising suspicions.
Upon quick inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered
seven sacks of bhang inside the vehicle.
The seized narcotics, along with the abandoned vehicle, were
promptly transported to Sotik Police Station for further processing.
Determined to bring the fugitive to justice, investigators
launched an intensive manhunt.
Through forensic leads, they trailed the suspect, identified
as Diab Asman Bhakit, to his hideout in Kibra, Nairobi, subsequently arresting
him.
Bhakit has been escorted back to Sotik Police Station, where he is currently in custody, undergoing processing as he awaits arraignment.
